Well, I have given into the reality that I'll likely never find my floppy drive for this laptop, so I bid on one. I'll post it here since it's something most people have no need for. The drive is here. Since I just bid on it on ebay this means I'll be finding it today, and winning this drive too, murphy's law and all.
Update: I was outbid. I'll fix this guy though. I'm one of those crazy bastards that bids in the last 30 seconds of the auction :-)
