man, it's fucking cold out here. The weather outdoors this time of year sucks ass, because it's really comfy during the day, and colder than a witches' titty after sundown. grr.

Fortunately I have company to keep me warm :)

Anyhow, I got a new battery for my watch today, as well as a ... X band radar gun. It hasn't worked for readout yet, but it's definitely setting off radar detectors. It could be a really fun ride home if people decide to drive like assholes around me. 8)

Welcome to the wonders of more southerly latitudes.

Oh and, just wait until daytime. Texas starts into its season of blast-furnace like heat in late May.

80 at night isn't beautiful. It's fucking hot. 70 at night is nice.

if you're talking Detroit, then yes, 80 at night is fucking hot. Remove the humidity tho, and it's beautiful. It's currently 101 outside right now, and I just went outside in sweatpants. It was only mildy uncomfortable. I can wear jeans all day without issue. It's really wild to feel hotter at 65mph on the bike than standing still tho.

given enough time and the proper tools I bet the readout can be made functional.

the readout is technically functional, as you may remember, it will read out both digits in calibration mode. It's just missing the tube for the third digit.

yes, but is it really working, beyond lighting up that is. can you get a speed reading on an object?

hm.......you could just sit in a crown vic and hide on the corder of a road.....then whenever someone is coming by..flip on the gun and watch the front end of the cars dip WAYYYY down. Otherwise we would play with those and see how fast we could make objects/projectiles move. childish but fun
