Due to the high temps today, and the temp drops tonight, there should be some good tropospheric ducting on VHF/UHF.
For those with FM only rigs, listen to simplex frequencies and call out to see if the freq's in use.
You'd be surprised how far you can talk on 2M simplex during tropo! I know a guy who worked Toledo from an HT in his driveway!
Myself, I've talked a couple hundred miles via 2M simplex. Like, Cleveland!

That's *NOT* fake, I found a port of OpenSSHd to Windows. :-) I got it because it comes with the command line sftp client and ls.exe (no more "Bad command or filename" when I'm on windows ;-) )

I love sftp, restoring a few mp3's from my backups to keep my sanity.

I got a DS-3 analyzer on eBay today for $10. I guess it will be cool to hook up to my Adtran T3SU300 so I can see the link, and just play with a friggin DS3 strung across my apartment ;-)

Now, If I could get someone within 622 feet of my apartment to connect to with serious bandwidth I might be onto something! :-)
