Screw accelerated courses when you don't care about the material. I'm getting burned out, and I'd rather spend the money on classes for next semester, and take a break for a bit.

Seriously dude, it is OK to take a semester off from school now and then, otherwise you'll get burnt out. You do work full-time (and then some), so it's not exactly the case that you're slacking. Take some time to enjoy life a little bit.

Re:
Dear Paul's overachiever side,

Please take some time to relax and enjoy life now and then, otherwise you will forget the reason for your quest, lose sight of your goals and wind up on a path that you didn't plan on. I speak from experience. It's summertime and it's OK to slow down and take life as it comes for a couple of months. Then, when the Autumn semester comes around, you will be rested, rejuvenated and ready for action.

Dear Amishone's college ....,

Slow down when you type, you're "unfortunally" missing lots of letters. :)

Perhaps I remember my humanities classes more fondly because I took Honors classes, and thus everyone in the class was at least as focussed on learning as I was. Plus, the male female ratio in humanities classes was usually the reverse of most of my Physics classes. Taking classes with smart, cute girls is always a plus.

They aren't going to change their minds about "the stupid humanities requirements." The liberal arts are part of a liberal (modern) education. Part of being college educated is that you're supposed to come out of the experience more well-rounded than when you went in. If you're not studying something of everything, in addition to your major, you're just getting trained to be a technician.

I know they aren't, but I can dream. I just see them as a waste of time, but I can agree to disagree with the college/university.

I know why they do it, but I can happily dissent with the idea that it matters.
