It's so you Paul! Definitely pick one (or a few) up.

BTW, are these cards reprogrammable, or are they more like ROMs, burn once and that's it.

the ones i have seen are reprogrammable.. i've seen smart cards used at Kinko's, on an AMEX card, on a visa card, on a dynamically coded building access card, etc..

a lot of common ones have the write fuse blown, so a rogue device can't deactivate or repurpose your smartcard.
